What is Mathews Bridge-Lock

Bridge-Lock is Mathews' integrated dovetail interface: the sight bar slides into the top of the riser instead of bolting to the side.

How Bridge-Lock works

On a Bridge-Lock riser, Mathews machines a dovetail channel into the top of the riser. A Bridge-Lock sight has a dovetail bar that slides down into that channel and locks in place, rather than mounting to the side of the riser with a separate dovetail block.

Locating the sight bar inside the riser this way ties the sight tightly to the bow and removes some of the stack of parts a side mount uses, which is why it is prized for rigidity and a clean look.

What it is for

The aim of Bridge-Lock is a more solid, repeatable sight mount. With the bar held in the riser, there is less flex between sight and bow, and the design also lets you adjust the sight in and out cleanly to set your peep-to-sight geometry.

Mathews has also used the Bridge-Lock idea for other accessory interfaces, so the term covers a family of integrated mounts rather than only the sight channel.

What fits a Bridge-Lock riser

A Bridge-Lock riser takes a Bridge-Lock sight, whose dovetail bar matches the riser channel. A standard side-mount dovetail sight does not drop into the Bridge-Lock channel, though adapters exist to run a conventional dovetail sight on a Bridge-Lock bow, and to do the reverse.

So if you have a Bridge-Lock bow, look first at Bridge-Lock sights, or an adapter if you want to keep a sight you already own.

Bridge-Lock and rests

Bridge-Lock is primarily a sight interface, and Mathews risers that use it commonly also carry the Integrate MX rest interface for the arrow rest. That means a Bridge-Lock bow often pairs a Bridge-Lock sight with an Integrate MX rest.
