The standard dovetail is the mount most sights still ship with. The sight clamps to a dovetail bar, and that bar bolts to a bracket on the riser sight bushings, so the mass sits out to the side rather than in-line with the riser.
This is the mount the through-riser systems were designed to replace. A standard dovetail sight will run on any bow with sight bushings, but it will not pass through a Mathews Bridge-Lock slot or clamp to a Hoyt Picatinny rail unless you fit the correct in-line base.
