Will my rest fit my bow: interfaces explained

Whether a rest fits your bow comes down to one thing: does the rest's mounting interface match what your riser provides.

It is about the interface, not the brand

A rest fitting your bow is not a question of matching brands. A Hamskea or QAD rest can fit a Mathews, PSE or Bowtech riser, as long as the rest's mount matches the riser's interface. What you are matching is the connection, not the badge.

So the first job is to identify your riser's interface, then choose a rest built for that interface.

The two interfaces to check

Most bows use one of two rest interfaces. The Berger hole is the traditional threaded hole that takes a single-screw rest and is present on almost every riser. Integrate MX is a newer dovetail interface, adopted across several brands, that holds the rest without a launcher screw.

A Berger-hole rest fits the Berger hole. An Integrate MX rest needs the Integrate MX dovetail. Getting this pairing right is the whole of the fitment question.

When you need an adapter

If your rest and riser use different interfaces, an adapter can bridge them. For example, adapters let an Integrate MX rest mount to a Berger-hole riser, and let some risers accept a rest they were not natively cut for.

Adapters add a part to the stack, so where you can match interfaces directly you get the most solid mount. Reach for an adapter when you want to keep a rest you already own on a different bow.

Checking your bow

Look at the riser around the shelf. A plain threaded hole is the Berger hole. A machined dovetail slot for the rest indicates Integrate MX or another integrated interface. Cross-check against your bow model's spec if you are unsure.

Once you know the interface, the fit tool lists the rests that mount to your bow directly, and flags where an adapter is needed.
